Former AP Women’s Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma to Join TDP
Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada ( Journalist File ) : Former Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma, who distanced herself from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) after its defeat in the recent general elections, has announced her intention to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). On Saturday, Padma met TDP MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) in a courtesy visit. Later, addressing the media in Vijayawada, she confirmed that she would formally join the TDP within a week.
Padma launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of neglecting party loyalists and prioritizing personal interests. “Jagan neither has the responsibility to run a party nor to govern effectively. His actions reflect a lack of commitment to society,” she said.
She further criticized the YSRCP leadership, alleging that the party is preparing to deceive its workers once again under the guise of a “good book” strategy. “Those who risked their lives for the party are now considered dispensable,” she remarked.
Alla Nani’s TDP Entry Under Consideration
Meanwhile, former YSRCP minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (Alla Nani), who recently resigned from the ruling party, is also preparing to join the TDP. However, his entry has met with resistance from sections of TDP cadre in his constituency.
The TDP leadership is reportedly taking a cautious approach, assessing potential repercussions before making a decision. Key leaders from the constituency have been tasked with addressing dissent among party workers opposed to Alla Nani’s inclusion.
Sources indicate that the TDP leadership believes resolving internal objections will pave the way for Alla Nani’s smooth induction into the party. The developments are being closely monitored as the party prepares for the upcoming elections.
