YS Sharmila Criticizes Chandrababu Naidu's Six-Month Governance as "Meaningless"
Andhra Pradesh , Vijayawada ( Journalist File ) Congress Party Andhra Pradesh State President Y.S. Sharmila has strongly criticized the six-month governance of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu under the coalition government, calling it "meaningless." Addressing a press conference, Sharmila stated that the promises made in Naidu's manifesto, including the so-called "Super Six" promises, have proven to be hollow. She accused the government of failing to fulfill even basic commitments, highlighting the unfulfilled promises of providing cylinders, unemployment benefits, and educational financial aid.
Sharmila pointed out the government's failure in implementing its promises, such as providing three free cylinders to each family, offering unemployment benefits, and giving ₹15,000 to every child attending school. She accused the administration of misleading the public with false assurances, stating that the government's schemes had only resulted in hardship for farmers and women.
The Congress leader also took a swipe at the ruling government’s economic policies, particularly criticizing the increase in liquor prices. She claimed that while Naidu's government promotes "quality liquor," it is burdening the public with inflated costs. Sharmila condemned the government's financial mismanagement, accusing it of imposing a burden of ₹17,500 crore on the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Sharmila also ridiculed Naidu’s leadership, comparing his promises to "empty guarantees" and lamenting the government’s inability to fulfill its electoral commitments. She criticized the government for prioritizing the interests of the rich while neglecting the needs of the common people, and stated that the six-month-long rule has done little to benefit the citizens of the state.
In response to Naidu's claims that the state is on a "ventilator" due to the previous YSR Congress government’s alleged mismanagement, Sharmila countered by calling it an excuse for the current government’s failures. She reiterated that the state has been suffering due to the current regime's "loot and plunder" policies and accused Naidu of misusing public resources for his own gain.
Sharmila emphasized that Naidu’s promises of restoring governance have fallen flat, urging him to focus on implementing the commitments made during the elections instead of engaging in rhetoric. "The honeymoon period of the government is over," she remarked, urging Naidu to take concrete steps to fulfill the promises made to the people.
