Telangana Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy to Undertake Foot March from November 8
Hyderabad ( Journalist File ) : Telangana Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy has announced his plans to embark on a foot march across the state, starting on November 8. The initiative, titled the "Moosi Revitalization Public Awareness Foot March," aims to engage with the local populace along the Moosi River.
The Chief Minister’s journey will kick off in the Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district, coinciding with his birthday. He intends to commence his tour by visiting the Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, where he will perform special prayers. Following his visit to the temple, he will hold discussions with officials from the Yadadri Development Authority regarding development initiatives at the temple site.
During the march, CM Reddy will travel through various localities including Bolepalli, Sangem, and the Bhimalinga bridge in the Veligonda mandal of Bhuvanagiri district. The foot march will be conducted under the supervision of local MLA Kumbham Anil. Additionally, the Chief Minister is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a pipeline project intended to supply drinking water from the Mallanna Sagar to Yadadri district.
The arrangements for the Chief Minister’s tour are being overseen by Government Whip Beerla Ailayya.
Recently, CM Revanth Reddy had challenged the leaders of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regarding their commitment to the Moosi River revitalization efforts. He criticized BRS leaders for only advocating for Moosi's restoration while in power, despite previously forming the Moosi Development Corporation and designing projects specifically for its rejuvenation.
Reddy condemned the current protests led by BRS leaders against the Moosi revitalization, asserting that it was inappropriate for them to oppose a project aimed at improving the river's condition. He emphasized that the public does not support the Moosi’s degradation and encouraged BRS leaders to contribute constructive suggestions instead of resorting to protests.
Challenging the sincerity of the BRS leaders, the Chief Minister invited them to join him on his foot march, questioning whether the people of Nalgonda district genuinely desire the Moosi revitalization. This foot march is anticipated to draw significant public interest, as CM Reddy sets forth to engage with citizens on November 8.
