Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Slams Arrest of Allu Arjun, Questions Procedure
Hyderabd ( Journalist File ) :Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, has expressed strong disapproval over the arrest of actor Allu Arjun in connection with the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. Sanjay questioned the manner of the arrest, asking whether it was appropriate for authorities to arrest the actor directly in his room without allowing him time to change his clothes. He expressed anger over the perceived lack of respect for the actor.
Sanjay praised Allu Arjun for bringing international recognition to Indian cinema, asserting that such a prominent figure deserved to be treated with greater respect. While acknowledging the tragic loss of a woman in the stampede, Sanjay blamed the incident on the failures of the Congress government, alleging that it was the government's lack of proper arrangements that led to the chaos. He also pointed out the immense popularity of Pushpa 2, following the success of Pushpa: The Rise, and criticized the inadequate arrangements made for the event.
The Minister emphasized that the negligence displayed in this situation could not be overlooked and called for Allu Arjun to be treated with dignity, not as a criminal. He further stated that the actor should be shown the respect he deserves.
Allu Arjun was arrested by Chikkadpally police today in connection with the stampede that resulted in a woman's death. Based on a statement from an eyewitness, the police interrogated the actor for approximately two hours before transferring him to Gandhi Hospital for a medical examination. He was later taken to the Nampally court. The police have clarified that they are following legal procedures in handling the case.
